I think we got ourselves a beautiful beautiful show here in Aix-en-Provence! Katie Mitchell's Pelléas et Mélisande is a journey into the psyche of Mélisande played outsandingly by the incredible Barbara Hannigan. The rest of the cast is equally impressive. The conductor , no other than Esa-Pekka Salonen leading the London Philarmonic Orchestra. What an experience!
And that's a wrap on SHAPES and last performance of Lucia in London.
Now I'm off to Aix-en-Provence for six weeks. Working on Katie Mitchell's Pelléas et Mélisande for the Festival in July!
